We will discuss the best solution for your loft conversion during your consultation. However, here are some of the more frequently asked questions.

Can my loft be converted?
Almost all lofts can be converted. It is dependant on size of the roof space;
- A required minimum head height of 2.45metres from ceiling to top of apex is needed for modern truss roofs.
- A required minimum head height of 2.3metres for traditional style roofs (cut & pitched roof).
Do i need planning permission?
A loft conversion for your house is considered to be permitted development, so planning permission isn’t always required.
However, it is required if;
- you live with in a conservation area.
- where you extend or alter the roof space and it exceeds specified limits and conditions.

What are Building regs. and do I need them?
Building Regulations apply in England & Wales to promote standards for the building construction industry. Building regulations approval is required to convert a loft or attic into a livable space and it is our responsibility, as your loft conversion company, to organise building regs. inspections and approval.

What is a Party wall agreement and do I need one?
Semi-detached and terrace houses share walls with other properties, and it’s a legal requirement that whenever a loft is converted you have to alert and seek approval from the people on the other side of the wall through a party wall agreement. We can provide you with full advice on this paperwork.

How much will it cost?
As every loft conversion that we do is tailored to each individual clients requirements, likewise, so is the cost. However, we are more than happy to come and visit you to discuss your requirements and give you a free, no obligation quotation.

How long will a loft conversion take?
Again, each loft conversion is individual, but once all of the designs and planning have been agreed a standard loft conversion would normally be completed in eight weeks.
